What is the Condition of the Welsh in this Tournament?

Wales, the site hosting this year’s opening game, are a formidable side. Currently, Wales ranked fifth in the Six Nations table, however, after finishing their campaign last year with ten points, beating only two of the six competitors. Their dismal performance last year saw them drop from second place on that table.

Wales Rooster Strength

Wales, therefore, enters this year’s championship looking to mend their reputation. This may be quite an uphill task though, as the Welsh will have to do without Sam Warburton, their phenomenal flanker, who in December last year was ruled out for at least six months, following surgery to mend a knee injury.

Another key for the Wales Rugby against Scotland will be the Full Back Leigh Halfpenny with 33 caps and 339 points.

But What about the Scottish Side?

The Scottish side fronts a thoroughly experienced team, with the team’s top five most experienced players recording more than thirty-nine appearances each.

Experience, however, has done little for the Scots, who have largely struggled to hold their own in the history of the tournament, despite being one of the founding nations. Last year, however, saw then finish fourth with fourteen points, five points behind winners England, after winning three of five matches.

Scotland’s Counteraction Veterans

The man to watch in this year’s tournament in this team? Stuart Hogg, who shined bright in last year’s thriller against Ireland, delivering two fantastic tries to contribute to Scotland’s 27 against Ireland’s 22 at the final whistle. Moreover, scrum-half Greig Laid Law also will get the attraction of the fans.

Wales vs. Scotland Previous Actions

The opening game of this season perhaps ruled as an easy prediction for anyone if history is anything to go by. Wales has largely been the superior of the two, winning in a massive seventeen of the last twenty-six clashes with Scotland, and drawing only once. Moreover, considering the overall clashes Wales are ahead than Scotland with 70 winning streaks in 122 meeting.

Cardiff Encounter Scotland v Wales Rugby 6 Nations 2018 Prediction

It should note that last year’s tournament saw the Scottish side very impressively break their decade-long losing streak against Wales, coming from behind to record a historical 29-13 victory at the final whistle. It may be that the tide has finally turned in favor of the Scots, for all we know. However, my money is still on the Welsh since this year’s clash is on the abode of Wales. Seems to me they have always handled the Scots with a tone of ferocity. Barring last year, and it is my assessment that the scenario will be no different this year.
