The rivalry between the New Zealand and south Africa rivalry is well known. Both teams consider the playing against each other is equivalent to play for the world cup. Both teams will face off in Durban. The match takes place at the GrowthPoint Kings Park. This match will be played under the castle lager Rugby championship.

The teams will again battle for the Investec rugby championship of 2017. The match will be held in Auckland, in the QBE stadium.
